Consistency and planning is key

chaspell2017

With the playing season coming to a close, its important to be consistent over the winter period to avoid a backlog of finishing works come the spring.

  • Plan achievable goals (don't bite off to much)

  • Remember staff holidays and plan accordingly

  • Be honest with the club with what you can realistically achieve

  • Communicate well with all stakeholders, Staff , members, committee and management

  • Plan next year already and set goals for spring

  • Allow for weather events with contingency time

Over the years i havemyself been caught out far too often over the years. Its somthing i come across on all my agronomy visits and also many construction contracts we all try to take on too much at times, my best advice is to undersell and over deliver.

  • Make a list of key things you would like to get done by a certain time frame

  • Have a backup list or contingency just in case things go better than expected

  • make sure you allow time for polishing the course ahead of the new season

These few key tips will help you achieve your goals but also keep your work life balance.

Have a great winter
